Butterfly-Effects

A blog about ambitious social projects in Southeast Asia. We traveled to organizations in person and captured their projects, motives and aspirations through short videos and articles.

My role

Together with my colleague, we did extensive research and planning to define the most suitable itinerary. We created stories that would enhance the organization’s work. I created the visual identity and designed the website. Furthermore, I directed, shot and edited our videos.

Visual Identity

Design

We started in February 2015, hoping to inspire people and encourage them to get more engaged into social projects. We wanted to highlight issues and successful solutions from the developing countries, despite their difficult environment.

An extensive country-by-country research set the itinerary of our trip, starting with Vietnam. We tried to put the organizations in a new light, by telling stories through cinematic, 2-3 minute videos. We knew this would be the most powerful medium, as it transposes the audience to the far away places we travelled to. We kept the stories compact, adapted for spontaneous viewing. The visual identity expresses ambition, and growth within boundaries.
