I'm a self-taught UX Designer and Researcher with 9+ years of experience in working with startups and multinationals, and a background in economics. Currently, I’m freelancing out of Berlin, and am Design Lead at Circular Berlin.

Over the years, I’ve had the priviledge of working with organisations such as Deutsche Telekom, Prezi, BMW, E.ON, Volvo, and Clariant. Above all, what drives me is using digital technologies and the power of design, to figure out how build an economic system that works in the long run.

Project 1/5

Circular Berlin — Building Berlin's go-to platform for the circular economy

Project • CIRCULAR BERLIN
ROLE • Product, UX/UI, Strategy
Date • 2018-NOW
DEMO • VISIT SITE

Back in 2018, Berlin’s circular economy community was scattered, with most players tackling the topic at an individual level, and not much political discourse happening. I joined the non-profit Circular Berlin early on, to build a collective of professionals that tackled those problems. As a design lead I  work on the creative direction, product design, branding, as well as community engagement through open-source software.

Project 2/5

Navigance — Using artificial intelligence to optimize the performance of chemical plants

CLIENT: NAVIGANCE
ROLE: UX/UI, Research
Date: 2018-2020
More: Intro Video

Navigance needed help in understanding their users better and coming up with solutions that address unmet needs. I conducted extensive on-site customer visits, redesigned the product UX and ensured its implementation by their developers. Working closely with their team for a period of over two years, I also created their first design guidelines and seen them implemented across the product.

Economic and social problems are often seen as separate, while they are actually one. Could we improve both with one action? Together with my colleague Lennard, we’ve developed the idea a universal basic income, which is financed out of resource usage. I’ve shaped the thinking and strategic direction and was responsible for the product, branding, and marketing. C.UBI was presented at the Disruptive Innovation Festival 2017, organised by the EllenMac Arthur Foundation.

Photo clutter is everywhere on our smartphones. Utiful set out to solve that with a dedicated app that keeps things tidy. I was responsible for product design (UX and UI), and branding, accompanying the team through the various pivots it took.

Project 5/5

Alo Education — Designing an app that teaches illiterates how to read and write

PROJECT • SELF-INITIATED
ROLE • Product, UX/UI, RESEARCH
Date • 2017-2018
MORE • WATCH VIDEO

When I traveled to Ivory Coast and learned that over half of the population is illiterate, I couldn’t understand how they were able to use smartphones. If they were already sending texts, answering calls, and streaming videos, would they also be able to learn how to read and write? I co-founded Alo Education, an app that teaches people who cannot read and write, how to read and write. I was responsible for the product design, user research, branding and marketing, and overall strategy.
